Are you too comfortable for mission?

I come across churches that are comfortable. They are the stable churches paying their way, but they are self-satisfied with the provision they have for their children and themselves. There is a biblical story about such a church. Reuben, Gad and Manasseh were the tribes of Israel who wanted to settle in the land east of the Jordan River. They could have taken land in the Promised land but they really liked the grazing land for their cattle east of the Jordan.  The problem with remaining on the east side of Jordan was that Reuben, Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh were separated by the Jordan River from Jerusalem, from Zion, from the Ark of the Covenant, and from the manifestation of the Glory of God Himself. Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh cared more for their cattle than they did for God. Many Christians are willing to lead a relatively comfortable decent moral life and to attend some church meetings. Break out of this comfort and invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
