Invitation Win-Win not Win-Lose
A serial inviter who I met in France told me how he responds to rejection. He told me he gets rejected over and over again. But he explained that in the invitation we must have a win for the person we are inviting. So when he hears a no, he does not give up, but explains to his invited friend why he thought about inviting them, and what an invitation could do for their life. So often we are almost apologising for inviting people to church. We go with a win-lose mentality. The inviter wins but the invited loses. But if we work out in advance what the win in the invitation is, for the person being invited, we can leave them with something to think about.
