Invitational Risk
Compared to the early church we in the western church are pretty much free from serious danger. What we fear nowadays is not really menacing. We might lose a friend over an invitation but we are not going to lose our home or our life. Yet we continue to shun risk even if it often amounts to little more than the risk of embarrassment. This shunning of risk often comes from unconscious decision making. It happens automatically. So consciously find the fear in your life, and take a risk by facing the fear and invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
