In Invitation work with the good soil
If you want to encourage invitation into the life of the church, the parable of the Sower and the different soils gives a clue about changing a culture. It is clear that the seed eventually falls on good soil and that some of the seed produces 30 fold, some 60 fold, and some 100 fold. That seed actually makes up for the seed that really doesn’t produce. The application is that despite Jesus preaching and teaching for 3 years to crowds in the end only a few were following him. But of that few, twelve took the message forward and from that twelve Simon Peter, John and later the Apostle Paul made a significant early impact. In invitation spend more time with those in your congregation who are showing signs of growth in the area of becoming invitational, whilst still sowing the seed in all soil conditions.
