Invitation and the Life of Pi

In the film the Life of Pi, the main character Pi is shipwrecked with a tiger and fears that he will either drown or be eaten by the tiger. Pi utters these profound words about fear.  “I must say a word about fear. It is life’s only true opponent. Only fear can defeat life. It is a clever treacherous adversary. It has no decency, respects no law or convention, shows no mercy. It goes for your weakest spot, which it finds with unerring ease. it begins in your mind always. One moment you are feeling calm self-possessed and happy. Then fear disguised as mild-mannered doubt slips into your mind like a spy. Fear which is just an impression triumphs over you.” Fear is the enemy of faith. Overcome it in one area of your life by becoming invitational and invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and His church.
