The Etchasketch mindset in invitation

If you were born in the 1960’s one of the most exciting presents parents could give their children was an Etch-a-sketch. The toy can be considered a simplified version of a plotter. You could draw pictures on a screen using a stylus. The stylus was  controlled by the two large knobs, one of which moves it vertically and the other horizontally; turning both knobs simultaneously creates diagonal lines.  To erase the picture, all the artist does is turn the toy upside down and shake it, then you could start all over again. I have to say I liked the erasing bit of the operation because mya attempts ended up looking nothing  like I was attempting to draw! In the same way with invitation we need to invite and if we have had a negative response to our invitation, we must shake it off and start all over again and invite someone else. Invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and His church.
