Invitation – Doppleganger
Inviting is about duplication. “Doppleganger” is a German word which literally means a “double goer” or a double of a living person. I wonder have you ever been mistaken for someone else? It’s like looking in the mirror. I have been mistaken a couple of times for Barak Obama, but the people who identified me as the President’s spitting image were wearing glasses! Inviting someone to take a closer look at Christ, and then seeing their lives transformed into the likeness of Christ is so wondrous. Another unique copy. It is into His image—that we are to be transformed; and it is toward His holy beauty—that we are always to strive. We are to live as He lived. We are to copy His features into our lives. Wherever, in all the world, true disciples of Christ are found—they are all trying to reproduce the likeness of their Master in themselves. “Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” So invite someone today to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
