The Resilient Inviter
Resilience is the power or ability to return to the original form or position after being bent, compressed, or stretched. It’s the idea of elasticity. The Apostle Paul is a prime example of invitational resilience and he reminded the Corinthians in his second letter to them that “we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.” Paul was remarkable he never gave up inviting people to consider a relationship with God despite being mistreated on a variety of occasions. As Proverbs says “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to
overthrow the wicked.” Make your rejected invitations through resilience give birth to great opportunity.
