Invite by taking off the Blinkers
So often I hear people say “They won’t want to come”, when I ask why are we not inviting people to church. We tend to concentrate on the few, or in fact just one person!. We need to think and pray about the ones we can’t presently see. God brings lots of people into our orbit, in our family, in community and in our businesses. The question is, can we see the other people to invite. Blinkers are a piece of horse tack that prevent the horse seeing to the rear and, in some cases, to the side. Many racehorse trainers believe these keep the horse focused on what is in front of him, encouraging him to pay attention to the race rather than other distractions, such as crowds. In invitation we need to take off the blinkers so we can see the crowd!
