Having guests doesn’t make you invitational
In some of our largest growing churches around the world, I always ask the question are you an inviting congregation. The answer that comes back, is that we are seeing new people every week. But often these guests are coming because of the location of the church building, or they have heard of the reputation of the church. We have mistaken guests for being an inviting culture. You can have guests but not be invitational. One senior church leader told me that they see ten guests every week. But they have a congregation of a thousand. The truth can set you free.
