Invitational Joy
On of my mentors Jim Rohn says “The walls we build around us to keep out the sadness also keep out the joy.” In invitation many of us only want to invite a friend or neighbour if they are going to say yes. But if there is a chance of a no, or even worse a confrontation we don’t want to jeopardise the relationship and experience that sadness. But if they say yes it can bring an amazing joy to the friendship and move it to another level. There is the catch 22 of life, in order to grow we need to risk failure, but there is a wonderful upside of deep joy.
