Subtle Cues

What we call the Placebo and Nocebo effects are simply scientific explanations for the healing effect or lack of it. Great doctors deal with the concerns that a patient has. A patient has a  notion of what might be wrong with them, something that they are particularly scared about it. Great doctors address the issue of fear, they put themselves in the patients shoes, and give faith to the patient by believing in their bodies possibilities of self-healing. That is the placebo effect. The Nocebo effect is when a doctor almost scares the patient and leaves them with increased concern and anxiety. They miss the subtle cues. God knows we are afraid and says don’t be afraid and this calming presence of God brings healing. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
