When the rug is pulled
In Western Christianity we can be attracted by the ideas taught by Jesus. We can be enthusiastic conceptually and intellectually, but it is very superficial. It is not changing the core of our being. Paul says “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Tim 3:7 But when great loss or hardship enters our lives, when the rug is removed from under our feet, then we have the opportunity of really understanding the teaching. Can we says with the Apostle Paul “I glory in suffering because suffering produces” the potentiality of changing the core of our being. Invite someone to take a closer look at Christ and his church.
